Privacy Policy

1. Your photos and projects

PICS uses the photos, videos, and Live Photos you select or authorize to create collages, apply filters, make cutout stickers, and export your work. Editing, rendering, and subject cutouts happen on your device. Projects, imported media, and custom stickers are stored locally in the app. We do not send your photos, videos, project content, or entered text to Mixpanel or RevenueCat.

You can change photo access in iOS Settings, including limiting access to selected photos. Denying or withdrawing permission may prevent importing or saving. System photo syncing, device backups, and content you choose to share to other services depend on those services and your device settings.

2. Usage and device information

PICS uses Mixpanel for product analytics. Release versions send events during launch and use, such as template browsing, editing, exports, paywall interactions, and purchase flows. Event properties include feature categories, template identifiers, random project identifiers, page counts, export formats, durations, error categories, and error codes.

These records may include random installation or user identifiers, session identifiers, app and operating-system versions, device type, language, and subscription status. We use them to understand feature usage, investigate problems, and improve PICS. They are pseudonymous, not fully anonymous. They do not include photo identifiers, file paths, photo content, text you enter, or raw error messages.

IP-based location inference is disabled in our Mixpanel configuration. Service providers may still process IP addresses and other network information for delivery, security, and operations. We do not use this data for cross-app advertising tracking or sell personal information.

3. Subscriptions and purchases

Apple’s App Store processes payments. PICS uses RevenueCat to verify purchases, restore purchases, and manage Pro access. This involves random user identifiers, product and transaction information, purchase or expiry dates, subscription status, and receipt information needed for verification. We do not receive your full payment-card number or Apple Account password.

PICS links the RevenueCat user identifier with the Mixpanel analytics identifier to understand purchase flows and entitlement status. The random identifier is stored in the system Keychain and may remain after uninstalling. Uninstalling the app does not cancel an Apple subscription or automatically delete purchase records held by service providers.

4. How we use information and our providers

We use necessary information to provide, maintain, and improve PICS, verify access, handle support requests, and meet legal obligations. Our main service providers are:

• Apple: app distribution, payments, subscription management, and system photo features. See Apple’s Privacy Policy.
• RevenueCat, Inc.: purchase verification and subscription access. See RevenueCat’s Privacy Policy.
• Mixpanel, Inc.: product usage and flow analytics. See Mixpanel’s Privacy Policy.

Providers handle information according to their roles and applicable agreements. We do not share personal information with unrelated third parties except to provide these services, meet legal requirements, protect rights, or carry out your instructions.

5. This website and support

This website does not include advertising trackers or product-analytics scripts, require an account, or accept photo uploads. Hosting and network-security services may process operational logs such as IP addresses, request times, browser information, and requested paths. External websites have their own privacy practices.

If you email us, we process your email address, message, and any attachments you choose to send to respond and help resolve your request. Please send only information needed to address the issue.

6. Retention, security, and international processing

Local projects remain until you delete them, clear app data, or uninstall the app. Copies exported to Photos must be deleted separately in Photos. Backup copies depend on your device and backup settings.

Remote usage records, transaction information, and support correspondence are retained only as needed for their purposes, dispute resolution, or legal obligations, and are then deleted or de-identified. Retention varies with the purpose, provider settings, and legal requirements. We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, but no system can be guaranteed completely secure.

Mixpanel is currently configured in the US region. RevenueCat and other providers may also process information outside your country, where data-protection rules may differ. International processing must comply with applicable data-protection requirements, including separate consent or other safeguards where required.

7. Your choices and rights

You can manage iOS photo permissions, delete local projects and stickers, remove exported copies in Photos, and manage subscriptions through Apple. The current release does not include an analytics switch. To ask about, access, correct, delete, or restrict information associated with a random identifier, contact hello@getpicsapp.com. We will verify and respond to requests within the periods required by applicable law.

Depending on where you live, you may also have rights to portability, to object to certain processing, to withdraw consent, and to complain to a data-protection authority. Reading this policy does not itself provide consent where the law requires it. Legal obligations may prevent immediate deletion of some transaction or security records; we will explain any applicable limits.

8. Children and younger users

PICS is a general-purpose creative tool, not a service directed at children. Younger users should use the app and make purchases with parental or guardian involvement where required by law. If you believe a child has provided personal information without required parental consent, contact hello@getpicsapp.com so we can investigate and respond.

9. Changes and contact

We will update this policy and its date when the product or our data practices change. We will provide appropriate notice of material changes and seek separate consent where required.
